"The Blind Whisperer"

You name it I do it. This is the amazing thing about owning a window treatment company. On any given day I could be up on an extension ladder programming motorized shades, meeting with a local realtor welcoming their clients to Clayton or installing designer roller shades in a barn. I have worked for a national blind manufacturer as well as a local plantation shutters manufacturer. I am called "The Blind whisperer". I get to see first hand what is coming into our local communities because we are designing their window treatments sometimes before they even break ground.  It is an exciting time to be in the new construction design world!

My favorite part of this business is programming motorized shades and introducing people to the new technoligy that can enhance their quality of life.

Outside of work I love to go to the NC mountains and hike, kayak, run, bike and anything outside. Here in Clayton, I am an empty nester and love to spend time in the woods with my family and my goats Jane, Bean and Atlas. My new passion is playing tennis. I feel blessed to be a part of the Johnston County community.

I love our community, our relationships and my team!

"Steady Eddie"

Ed can do anything! REALLY! He says you have to have the right tool for the job. So he has them all, and if he doesn't have it he is willing to buy it. Between Monique's 20 years of experience and Eds tools they can manage any project big or small. From whole house direct wire motorized shades linked to home automation operated from an app to 500 commercial designer solar shades they can do it all!

Ed leads our installation team with steady deliberate direction.

Ed has the 4 things that are required to be an installer for Clayton Blinds:

  • The right tools
  • An eye for detail
  • He cares and makes sure everything is just right for our homeowners
  • Great attitude
  • Absolutely 0 drama

These are personality traits that can't be taught.

Ed also loves Spending time with his Wife of 30 years and 2 daughters and we think perhaps even more so his dogs Oliver and Coal.

Tristen enjoys spending most of her free time outdoors—hunting, mudding at Busco Beach, or hanging out on the boat with my fiancé and our sweet chocolate lab, Knox. I am currently in nursing school and love helping people. I love helping clients find window treatments that feel like the perfect fit for their home.

Joe McQuilkin

Lead Installer

I'm a part time blind installer for CB&D! I am the daughter of Monique and Ed Neville and have a beautiful sister named Reagan as well as two big poodles at home.

I love to play volleyball when I’m not working and spend time with my family. I’m currently attending UNCW and loving it! I’m so happy to be able to work with family and for such a wholesome company.

Hello, my name is Joe McQuilkin, and I am the installer here at Clayton Blinds and Designs! I have been installing window treatments of all types for over 12 years, commercially/residential/new construction. I enjoy residential the most because of the people/customers I get to meet/interact with on a daily basis, and I love working here at Clayton Blinds, where we are a small team with big aspirations. We work together closely like a family, we can rely on each other, and we all have the same goal in mind - give the customer the best experience from start to finish, and that really shows; take a look at our reviews!

In my off time, I enjoy working on my car and spending time with my amazing daughter.
